2012 Concerts Announcement

I’m so pleased to announce this year’s programs for the 2nd Annual Columbia Valley Chamber Music Festival! This year’s programming includes many composers that you might know, like Brahms, Mozart, and Dvorak. And it also includes some that you might be hearing for the first time, like Martinu and Ginastera. We’ll be doing a free family concert in cooperation with the Invermere Public Library, so be sure to join us if you are a kid of any age. If you have any questions about shows or locations, or are interested in becoming a festival sponsor, please don’t hesitate to contact me at lrobinson@cvchambermusic.org

Listed are concert dates, locations, and ticket prices. All tickets will be made available at the door, cash only please.

Welcome!

Welcome to the 2012 Columbia Valley Chamber Music Festival! We’re excited to bring great chamber music back to the Columbia River Valley in August 2012.

Starting a chamber music festival is something I’ve always wanted to do. My husband and I have been coming to the Columbia Valley since we started dating, and I always thought it would be the perfect place for a festival. Turns out, I was right. 2011 was a HUGE success. While I fretted that no one would come, I needn’t have been worried. Both of our concerts filled Christ Trinity Church in Invermere to capacity. We hosted the world premiere of song without words by David J. Lang, featuring Calgary Philharmonic principal trumpet player Adam Zinatelli. Audiences also enjoyed music by Mozart, Brahms, Dohnanyi, and more. Calgary Philharmonic violinist Laura Reid performed a particularly spellbinding rendition of Ysaye’s 2nd Violin Sonata. Our partnership with the Invermere Public Library’s summer reading program was an incredible success and we’re looking forward to strengthening this partnership. At basically every turn, we were met with enthusiasm and warmth.

More details are forthcoming, so please check back soon as our dates and roster of musicians are finalized.

If you are interested in making a donation to the festival, or would like to host a musician, or have any questions at all, please hit the contact button and let us know.

Looking forward to seeing you in August!
